It's About DANG Time

Tell me about it! It's about DANG time I finished up my thankful November and moved onto December, still with lots of thankfulness. Without further ado, because I know all of you have been waiting on pins and needles to hear what I am thankful for...November 16th - November 30th. I'll try and keep them short and sweet.

November 16th - Crazy Love by Francis Chan. Our home group is going through this book right now and it is AMAZING!! Really gets you thinking and through the fabulous conversation it creates, has really helped us get to know each other better.

November 17th - National Bundt Cake Day! Although this is actually November 15th, it saved me on November 17th. A Nothing Bundt Cakes opened on the 14th right behind my office and my very thoughtful mother forwarded me the coupon they sent out to get a free "bundlet" on the 15th. My co-worker and I both went in to get our "bundlets" (love saying that!) and when she ended up purchasing a large bundt cake, she gave me her "bundlet." Then, when I was texted to bring dessert to the Young Life campaigners I lead in the afternoon on the 17th, I was saved by the "bundlets!"
Note: You should probably start saying "bundlet" in your daily life. I promise it will make you smile!

November 18th - No rise pizza crust! Our busy schedules have not allowed Ben and me much quality time together. This particular Friday we decided to eat in and make homemade pizza together. I was actually supposed to get off work early at 4:00, but a few unexpected things kept me until 7:00. This crust took 10 minutes to make and about the same to cook and was fabulous! This will be a staple in the Clark household!

November 19th - My nieces, Annie and Charlotte!!! All of my sisters, myself, my mom and my oldest niece, Annie, went to Chi Omega Christmas in Dallas and had a blast. I don't get to see my nieces as much as I'd like because of how far away we live, but I got to spend the whole day practically with Annie and it was fantastic. I "flew" her everywhere we went and loved it...even though I started sweating profusely! Both Charlotte and Annie are such sweet girls with such fun personalities and I am so thankful to be their Aunt Natalie!

(I totally stole these pics from my sisters blog b/c I'm horrible at remembering to take pictures)
On Thanksgiving

Sweet Charlotte

Annie - a girl after my own heart

November 20th - ALERT...this might get sappy!! November 20th holds a very special place in my heart. On this day, I am incredibly thankful for my husband and, of course, Beth Marie's! November 20, 2009, was the day that Ben proposed to me. It was one of the most fabulous nights of my life and we celebrate it every year by going back to Beth Marie's, the place where he proposed, and getting ice cream. I always try a different flavor when we usually go, but on our "engageiversary" I ALWAYS get the flavor I ordered that night, Hansel & Gretel. It is AMAZING! It is a gingerbread flavor with chunks of gingerbread in it and it is only out during the holiday season. Anywho, I will never be able to express how happy I was that night. Ben is the love of my life and November 20th is so special to me because that is the night we decided to start a life together. Not to mention, he did an unbelievably amazing job with his proposal. I'll have to give you the full story another time, but in short, he shut down my favorite ice cream parlor and proposed by naming one of the flavors "Marry Me." INCREDIBLE!! I love you Ben Clark!! Oh yea and this year he even went to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn with me!!

I love this picture - you can see everyone inside!

November 21st - Pictures. I love pictures and I do not take enough of them. As Ben and I continue to decorate our house I keep finding pictures and it's always like a walk down memory lane for me. I love being able to look at all of our memories!

November 22nd - Smelly Cheese. Say what you want, I may be weird, but I heart smelly cheese. I used to not eat cheese at all. It was one of my "rules." I gradually eased back in with laughing cow and now, who knew, I am a lover of the stinky cheese!

November 23rd - My Mamaw and Papaw, aka the cutest grandparents ever! I say it all the time to people, but my mamaw and papaw are the best grandparents I could ever ask for. They have always lived on a farm in Valley View, TX, which is about an hour or so away from where we grew up, but they have always been at all of our big events. We used to stay at least a week with them every summer and those were the best times where we didn't have to brush our hair or our teeth or ever change out of our pjs if we didn't want to. They are so loving and adorable and I just can't imagine our lives with out them. I am especially thankful for them around Thanksgiving because they anchor our big, chaotic, crazy family! I love my Mamaw and Papaw!! '

At my Papaw's 80th birthday

November 24th - Family Traditions. Yes, I am singing this song out loud right now! My friends make fun of me quite often for this, but I am that person that always says "this is my first year not.." I love tradition and I hate change. My family has TONS of traditions and I love every single one of them! Thanksgiving is the BEST because it starts the traditions off...ok you convinced me, I'll fill you in.
  • The Wednesday before Thanksgiving - go to Mamaw and Papaw's for a simple dinner and games
  • Thanksgiving - Run the Turkey Trot with Ben's family, have Thanksgiving at Mamaw and Papaws, play on the farm for a while, have Thanksgiving at the Clark's and hang out all night
  • Day after Thanksgiving - my parents go shopping ALL DAY and we decorate their house (doesn't happen always now bc most of us are gone), meet mom and dad for dinner and a movie
Ben ran 8 miles for the 1st time in his whole life. Oh yea, and ran for the first time in like 2 months!
Annie and I on the farm

November 25th - Lazy mornings. Not something I'm accustomed to, but Ben went hunting and when I woke up all I wanted to do was watch tv on my computer while laying in bed eating pancakes. This has NEVER happened and it will be happening more often!

November 26th - Cold weather. It FINALLY feels like the Holiday season around here. I was beginning to get depressed by this 70 degree weather in November. A cold front moved in and now it feels like we should be celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas...HALLELUJAH!!
Note: Although I do want the cold weather, I would prefer if the really cold rain would hold off for my half marathon on Sunday. Thanks.

November 27th - Newly discovered TV shows (that are not reality TV). I confess, I am a reality TV junkie. I cannot get enough of those Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I love the Bachelor/Bachelorette, Flipping Out, Rachel Zoe, Restaurant Impossible, etc. When all the new TV shows were coming out, Ben and I decided that we should find a show that was not reality TV that we could watch together. We are now in love with Dr. Zoe Hart on Hart of Dixie aka Rachel Bilson and while he was out of town I watched all of the New Girl episodes and started watching Revenge too. I am now obsessed with both! I even requested that after all of the festivities for my birthday on the 30th that Ben and I watch 2 more episodes of Revenge before going to bed. :)

November 28th - Katie Clark. I cannot leave this month without saying that I am so very thankful for my fabulous sister-in-law! I am one lucky lady to have a sister-in-law who is truly one of my best friends. She is one of the funniest people I know and I absolutely love hanging out with her. Thank you Katie for being such a wonderful sister and friend. I love you!

November 29th - Tony Clark. I also cannot forget to mention my amazing father-in-law. I know I mentioned Karen in an earlier post, but Tony is so wonderful to me as well. He is such a generous man and has done a ton for Ben and me. I truly feel loved any time I am around him and am so thankful for a father-in-law that I am so comfortable around and that has always been so welcoming to me since the beginning of Ben and my relationship. I am also so thankful for his relationship with Ben and how close they are as well as his relationship with his wife and the example he sets for us of how a marriage should be. Thank you for everything Tony, I love you! PS - I am also very thankful for your wine collection! Oh yea, and I'm thankful that I am not the only health nut in the family!

November 30th - Last but certainly not least, I am thankful for another fabulous year. November 30th is my birthday and yesterday was an amazing day for me. Can't believe I'm 24 years old! Everyone in my life, old friends, new friends, co-workers, family, people I didn't even know, made the day extra special. I was floored by all of the birthday wishes I received and could not have asked for a better day. I am so thankful that God has provided so many people that encourage me and lift me up in my life. I am also so thankful for all of the many blessings he has provided in this past year. I am so lucky to have an amazing husand, family, job, boss, health, etc. Can't wait to see what my 24th year brings!!!!

And with that, we have finished an entire month of thankfulness! Time for CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

Mass Amounts of Thankful

I'm pretty sure it's evident that I am absolutely terrible at this posting everyday thing. I wish I could find time to squeeze in a post on a daily basis, but I can barely squeeze in a decent dinner on a daily basis. Thus, the name of this post...we have a lot of thankfulness to catch up on. Like 7 days worth of thankfulness. I will say that I have thankful thoughts everyday after starting this challenge and write them down, so I'm not just randomly trying to come up with things. Lets get started...

November 9th - Coffee but not really coffee. I'll just get it out there - I HATE COFFEE!! I wish so much that I liked it because there are so many days that I think that it would really help me out if I liked it or at least just make me feel better, but I inevitably get the gag reflux every time I try and choke it down. YUCK! I can definitely do lattes, but even the hot variety leave me with an aweful taste in my mouth. Of course, I like the very fattening drinks, but I just can't justify giving up anywhere from 300-600 calories in liquid form. I like food way better. Ok, I'll get to the point. I have found a form of coffee that I adore! HALLELUJAH!! Bring out the singing angels! I have found that if mix 1 cup of coffee, I use the single serving packets, and 1 packet of diet hot cocoa, I am one happy camper! I look forward to this drink every single day now. Success!

Can't control my excitement!

November 10th - "This is country music and we do, so turn it on, turn it up and sing along...." Yes, I am so very very thankful (I would add a lot more verys in there, but don't want to annoy you) for country music! Last Thursday (Nov. 10th) I went over to a friend's to help her make strawberry cupcakes to take to a baby shower and it just so happened her and her husband had taped the CMA's. Oh I could not have been more excited! I missed them on Wednesday and wanted to see all the outfits, hear all the songs and of course, be envious of Carrie Underwood's legs. Country music just makes me happy and 99.9% of the time it makes me wanna dance. I'll let you in on a little secret....I secretly wish I could be one of Luke Bryan's back-up dancers for "Country Girl Shake it for Me." I daydream about going country dancing and breaking out those dance moves. Ok, enough of my embarrassing thoughts...I just love country music!!

I even broke out the red boots for my wedding reception

November 11th - Group fitness classes. I haven't been to a class in what feels like ages. Since I started training for the White Rock Half Marathon, I'm either running or cross training and with my work schedule + all the things Ben and I are involved in, there are never any classes at the times I can go. Before training started I got really into spin class, but I think I got a little burnt out on it. I was going 3-4 days a week and just started feeling like I wasn't getting the work out I wanted. On Friday, Ben was out of town, so I opted to work out after work and what do you know, my favorite Body Works (very much like Body Pump) teacher was teaching a class at 5:45 pm. I got in a little cardio before and then went to the class and loved it as usual! I wish I could go to this class more often.

Get Pumped! (ps- this was my Jr year in college & that's my sister on the right)

November 12th - Seesters!! aka sisters Since Ben was out of town all weekend hunting (I'm a widow from November to January), I went to Dallas to see my family on Saturday and Sunday. Although I didn't get to see one of my sisters, I got to see the other two plus my beautiful nieces and their relationship makes me all the more thankful for my fabulous sisters. Relationships between sisters just cannot be explained. When Ben and I, or other males for that matter, have had discussions about kids, and they are all "I WANT ALL BOYS, OH OK MAYBE 1 GIRL," I've tried to explain that a girl needs sisters and that there is just no relationship quite like it. Now, keep in mind I've never had brothers, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Take for example the above picture. A few days prior to this, my boyfriend of a year had broken up with me and I was heart broken. We had a sorority function that weekend and I had no idea what to do. I didn't want to ask someone else and it just so happened Christie's boyfriend was out of town that weekend, so she offered to go together. Yes, my sister and I went as dates and it was glorious! That is what sisters are for. This post is going to be forever long if I go on and on about my sisters, which I could, but I just want to say that I am so thankful for each of them, Katie, Christie and Martie, and for each of their uniquely fabulous personalities. Love you!

At my Bachelorette Party

November 13th - My parents. Being home over the weekend meant spending lots of time with my parents and it was so wonderful. There are just some times that it feels so perfect to be back at home. Words cannot even begin to express how thankful I am for my sweet parents. They truly are the most amazing parents we could have ever asked for. I have never in my whole life had to doubt how much they love me and they have always supported me 110% in everything I do. Going home is just so special because my parents are so unbelievably good at making me feel welcome.

The year before Ben and I got married I was kind of my parent's little sidekick. Whenever I was home from college or when we were on vacation, the majority of my time was spent with them. Some people might complain, but I loved it! Again, I could go on and on about my parents, but I'll leave you with two of my favorite memories from my mom and dad. These are just examples of how loved and beautiful they have always made me feel.

Memory of my mom: My mom would pick me up from softball practice my sophomore year and at that time we had an amazing coach who made us work hard. I loved it! One particular day we had had a really hard practice and after getting in my mom's car super sweaty and tired, before pulling out of the parking lot, my mom turned around to tell me something and just said, "Natalie, you are so beautiful." It was so sincere and unexpected and I think of that moment often.

Memory of my dad: The day my parents took me to Baylor was an emotional one to say the least. I dated a guy in high school for about 2 1/2 years and it ended up not being the healthiest relationship and after the break up, I was left with some real self-esteem issues. My dad knew this and always offered words of affirmation to me. As I gave my parents a hug goodbye in the Collins (my dorm) parking lot, the words my dad left me with, through tears, were "Don't settle for anyone who doesn't treat you like the jewel that you are." He's a pretty amazing dad!

Aren't they cute?!?!

November 14th - These last 2 can be short and sweet since this is the longest post EVER...I am thankful for libraries. Thank you especially for the Flower Mound library because I am always late returning my books and they do not charge a late fee. WOO HOO!!!

November 15th - I am very very thankful for sports! I got to go watch some of my Young Life girls play basketball last night and it made me miss sports so much. I am so thankful that I grew up playing all kinds of sports and that it enabled me to have a very loving relationship with physical activity. I love working out and staying fit and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it makes me feel more athletic. Since girls don't commonly have pick-up games, at least I can stay athletic through running and the gym.

After my final game senior year...I know my uniform is sexy.

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!!

November 7th & 8th

Thankful thankful thankful! This thankfulness thing is really helping my attitude. I feel like I have more energy and am just really happy when I think about all that I am thankful for!!

November 7th - Young Life

Ben and I started volunteering for Young Life in Flower Mound about a month ago and although it can sometimes be a little overwhelming, I am so thankful for it. I love all of our leaders and all of our kids. I feel blessed every Monday when I see everyone and every Thursday when I see all my girls.

November 8th - Kale

Yes you read that right, I am thankful for kale. I tried making roasted kale chips for the first time tonight and I am officially obsessed. Holy yum! I highly recommend making them. Even my meat and potatoes lover of a husband loved them!

In other news --- yesterday's workout was a super schweaty one and it was fantastic! Extra bonus, I wore my new shorts and shirt and loved 'em!

Awkward look-away due to someone walking into the locker room

Lovin' my new Under Armour shorts! I'm in the market for more workout shorts if anyone has any suggestions I'd love them. I've always worn Nike shorts, but last weekend while I was trying to find some new ones they were all super baggy.

Here's the workout I did:

Stability Ball Crunches - 25

And this is what it produced...love this shirt!

AND We're Back

Back to a semi-normal schedule and back with lots of thanks! While I was out of town for the weekend I did not even touch a computer. I won't lie...it felt good! But now I'm back and full of thankful thoughts and even some fun pics to share!

Like this!

First up was good 'ole Waco. This weekend was Homecoming at Baylor and I was not about to miss a chance to hang out with the ladies! Unfortunately, we only had one night there because of a wedding in Austin Saturday night, but it was still fabulous as always. Have I mentioned I love Baylor? That brings me to my thankful thought for November 4th - Baylor. I am beyond thankful for Baylor and the friends it provided for me throughout the 4 years I was there. There are no words to describe how much I love my Baylor friends and for that I am thankful!

Don't mind my fashionable ensemble...after going to bed around 3 AM, I woke up at 7 AM before the parade to get in a surprisingly fabulous 9.5 mile run. Above is the aftermath.

After enjoying the best college pararde ever, I headed to Austin with these 2 fellas. Ben had already headed to Austin for an early morning hunt, so we met him there. After an A-MAZING lunch at The Grove in Austin everyone else arrived and we started getting ready for the wedding.

The wedding was beautiful, but even more beautiful was Austin, TX. I could SO live in that city! Which brings me to November 5th's thankful thought - Austin. Why oh why do I not live in Austin, TX?? What first intrigued me was last weekend's run. I was just running along with my head all in the clouds daydreaming about all of the beautiful houses and scenery I was running past. Now, this weekend I was able to stay at a friend's house who has the most fabulous view of the city. Anyway...I want to live in Austin, TX and I am thankful for how beautiful it is!! Thank you God for your beauty!

Sunday was a day full of traveling. First, Ben lost his wallet out in Marble Falls where he was hunting, so we had to drive an hour outside of Austin before driving the 3 1/2 hours home. And this brings me to my thankful thought for November 6th - my husband. I have a feeling another day will also be dedicated to him, but I just have to say that I am thankful for his quirks. Although I was a little annoyed at having to drive out of the way, he never fails to make me laugh when this stuff happens. I just have to laugh at how opposite we are and I am thankful we are opposite. If we were both like me we might, no we would kill each other. I am also thankful for the fact that he ALWAYS drives. I literally feel sleepy about 2 minutes after I start driving a long distance and I am so thankful that when we are together I never have to drive.

I love this man!

November 2nd & 3rd Thankful

Since I'm posting this pretty late in the day I will go ahead and post yesterday's and today's thankful thought.

November 2nd -- I am so so thankful for an amazing Home Group. Ben had been attending the Village Church in Denton prior to us getting married, but I attended a very small church in Dallas. After we were married we started attending The Village in Flower Mound. There are not enough amazing things to say about this church, but it was a little overwhelming for me because I went from attending a church where I know EVERY SINGLE person, so attending a church where I would walk in and out without knowing a soul. Needless to say we were both really wanting to join a smaller group to have a sense of community within the church. Lets just be real honest here....small groups can be hit or miss. We have both had our fair share of interesting/not-so-positive experiences with small groups, but definitely wanted to give it another try. We joined our Home Group right before the summer and could not be happier. It is absolutely the perfect fit and I could not be more thankful for such an amazing group of people to share my life with! Every time we meet this feeling is reinforced and last night was no exception.

November 3rd -- Today I am super thankful for my amazing mother-in-law, Karen! Both her and my father-in-law, Tony, are some of the most generous people you will ever meet and they have been so wonderful to me over the past 3 years. My thankfulness for Karen has just increased over the weekend and week because of her amazing willingness to go out of her way to help me. Thank you so much Karen for all you do! I will never get tired of tortilla soup, thrift store finds, protein bars, starbucks tea or any of your other fabulous gifts!

Karen and me in Grand Cayman!

Be Thankful Challenge

November is such a fabulous month!! For starters it is my birthday month! It is also the month of crisp Fall days, Starbucks Christmas cups, deer hunting (hopefully a trip to Paducah, TX), the Turkey Trot and one of my very favorite holidays and time spent with family...THANKSGIVING!!

Yesterday Tina started the "Be Thankful Challenge" and I'm going to join. I've always been an overly optimistic person my entire life, but ever since I entered the "real world" I have become a little bit pessimistic and I don't like it. Hopefully this challenge will help me to look at all of the things I should be thankful for and turn me back to the super positive person I used to be.

I'll be posting something at the end of each day. I'm a day late, so I'll post something now for November 1st.

November 1st - After a weekend trip to Austin to run the Run for the Water 10 mile race (recap to coming soon), I am beyond thankful for the legs God gave me to run and run well.

My 1st Half Marathon

Daily Dose of Sweet

I still owe everyone a post on why I've been so preoccupied the past couple of months and I intend to get that up by Sunday. I promise! Right now I'm working on getting all the pictures together from 2 different cameras and 2 different iPhones. We were a little unorganized (still are) during the preoccupation (is this a word?). Just so you know that we (Ben and I) are still alive and well, here's a pic of us at the playoffs of the Grand Prairie Air Hogs reppin' Baylor. The playoffs happened to be the same night Baylor played TCU and they both won at the EXACT same time! It was a fabulous night!!

Sic 'em Bears and Go Airhogs!
(Sidenote: the Airhogs went on to win the league and are the CHAMPIONS!)

You may be wondering what the heck the title of this post has to do with the above. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! What this post is dedicated to is my sweet and talented sister, Christie. Oh look, there she is now!

Christie and her talented photographer husband, Taylor

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been slammed at work. We have had a few big events that I've been working on, one including 22 people from out of town staying at by boss's house. Can you say Cah-ray-zay?!?! This particular event included making gift bags for each visitor as well as making sure we had a cake for the dinner going on the night they arrived. Lets just be completely honest and say that these two things didn't really get put on my "crucial" list until a couple weeks before the event. With everything else going on, aka trying to figure out where everyone would sleep and arranging how they would get from Indiana to Dallas, the airport to the house, the house to the office and the office to Austin, I just hadn't really thought about it.

Of course, we wanted to give everyone a big Texas welcome with fabulous gift bags that had a Texas theme. Lets just say that most of the Texas trinkets and gifts out there are a little cheesy and quite frankly, junk. Things were kind of getting down to the wire and I needed something fast. I have no idea how it escaped my mind (oh yes, I do, did you see the list above?!), but I finally thought of cookies in the shape of a boot or Texas. This is where my sister enters the picture ---

Christie is an amazing baker. You can check out her blog over at dailydoseofsweet.com. Not only does everything she makes taste incredible, she is an absolute perfectionist and everything she does looks incredible too. Immediately, there was no question in my mind, if she could, she was doing the cookies. Thank the good Lord that she is such a sweet sister because with only about a weeks notice, she said YES to doing the cookies (2 each for 24 people) and a cake to feed 50 for the party. SHE IS AMAZING!

The best part about asking Christie for help is that I never have to think twice about her work. I knew I would pick everything up and absolutely love it! These are the directions I gave her:

Cookies: shaped like a boot, decorated like a boot
Cake: Snickerdoodle to feed 40-50, just write Keller Williams welcomes Southern Indiana, you can just write it.

And this is what she presented me!

Then, as my boss was eating the leftover cake for breakfast the next morning, she asked me to get a cake for a party they were having the next Thursday at their house. Again, with very little notice, my sister did a fabulous job!

What can I say?? I love her!! Saves my butt and does amazing work!! Clearly I am no photographer and these are all iPhone pictures, so mosey on over to her blog and check out her fabulous work and her husband's fabulous pictures of it! Love you, Chris!

Ps - here are a couple of other things she has done. One for a baby shower and the other for our Papaw's 80th birthday party.

Still Here

I know it's been forever since I've posted, but Ben and I have been a leeetle pre-occupied. My "leeetle" I mean I feel like I haven't had time to breathe in the past month! One day a couple of weeks ago, I even had trouble staying awake on my way home from work (5:30 pm) and immediately took a 10 minute nap when I walked in the door. If you know me, that is super weird!

Since I've been gone for forever I just wanted to drop in and let you know that the blog is still here and I fully intend on catching you up on all the things happening in our lives. We shouldn't be AS pre-occupied in the next couple of weeks. Just so you get your fill of the married and the healthy of this blog I have something to share with you from each.

First the married - I found this quote the other day while browsing pinterest, my unhealthy obsession. I am absolutely in love with it! I must say that I think marriage is probably the greatest thing EVER created! I have had soo much fun over the last year with Ben. I'm not saying things have been perfect at all, because they haven't. We have had our fair share of doozies, but I have learned so much from him. Before I get too sappy, I will just share this quote and let you know that it describes so many things I have learned and am still learning.

"He's not perfect. You aren't either, & the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, & if he admits to being human & making mistakes, hold onto him & give him the most you can. He isn't going to quote poetry, he's not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don't hurt him, don't change him, & don't expect more than he can give. Don't analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, & miss him when he's not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don't exist, but there's always one guy that is perfect for you."
-Bob Marley

Oh this just makes me smile! It describes perfectly what I feel like I have learned and am still learning in the last year with Ben. I am still learning a lot, but the one thing this quote portrays that I feel like other girls/ladies/women also struggle with is showing your true emotions in every moment. Ben is an open book and I love getting to watch his expressions in all situations. There is no need to be "mysterious." Love is just so much better when it is honest and pure.

Well that is my shpeal on that...on to the next, health --

I have led an active lifestyle since what feels like I was born. I played many many sports growing up and after graduating from high school and foregoing sports in college, I took up running. I love running, but it's just not something I can do day in and day out. It might be a possibility if I could always run outside in beautiful weather with beautiful scenery, but lets get real, I live in Texas! It's freaking hot right now!

The past couple of months I have struggled with keeping it interesting and fun at the gym and was getting sort of frustrated that my motivation was lacking. That is definitely not a problem now! Gina posted her Summer Shape Up 2011 about a month ago and although I followed it loosely, I loved it. Well, now I'm ready to see some major changes in my body and have started up again from Week 1 and am absolutely thrilled with how I feel. It is 4 weeks long and never gets boring. I am so excited for the next 3 weeks!

7-11

Yes, you do get free slurpees at 7-11 on 7-11, but there is a different reason why I love this day so much....it's my wedding day!! I was hoping to get this post up yesterday, on my actual anniversary, but the day was filled with fun with my hubby (and some work too).

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to my very favorite husband, Ben!! I really wish we could do our wedding and all the days leading up to it all over again. The other day, our pastor at church was relating something to a big wedding that you never want to leave where everyone dances all night and it's like a big reunion and that is exactly how I would describe our wedding day. It was the most fun and best day of my life!

Getting our dance on!

THRILLER!!

To celebrate one fabulous year as husband and wife, Ben and I had an early morning date to OLD WEST. It's a small cafe with good 'ole home cooking. I honestly just love the place for the atmosphere and I'll occasionally get a seasonal pancake. Ben is more into the food, but I did surprise myself and got something other than egg whites.

Ben's breakfast quesadilla

My spinach, onion and mushroom egg white omelette

Holy moly-- that omelette was HUGE!!! I thought going the healthy route they wouldn't make the omelette near as large, but it was ginormous! I maybe ate half of it and my cup of fruit and I was FULL until about 1:30 PM.

We both had to go to work, but the day absolutely flew by. Before I knew it it was time to race home to get ready for our hot date. I even splurged and bought a new dress on my lunch break!

Isn't he handsome?!

I had no idea where we were going until we were half way there. Ben surprised me by taking me to the place where we went on our very first "date." He considered it a date....I was really in the mindset that we were just "hanging out," but I fell pretty fast.

See the Happy Anniversary! at the top?!?!

I still remember Ben asking if I wanted to hang out one night and then texting me, "What's your favorite restaurant?" I replied, "McCormick & Schmick's, but there's no way we're going there." He was pretty good at wooing me and took me there!

Next on the agenda was our VERY VERY VERY favorite place!!!!

:)

How could you not LOVE a place with that many homemade flavors of ice cream??

We had a fabulous day and night and I am so so thankful to be married to Ben. There is no one in this world I have more fun with and I truly married my best friend.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! ONE YEAR DOWN, 50+ TO GO!!

So glad we finally starting dating!
PS- this picture was taken when I still qualified us as "hanging out!"
